Building Fund

After several years of planning, Second Chance’s dream of building a new and improved facility is finally completed!

We officially broke ground on the Arlington construction site in November 2017, and we opened this facility on October 30, 2018.

We are well on our way to meeting our$5,000,000 fundraising goal for our Building Fund - most of which will be allocated to the construction and outfitting of the facility and a portion to establish a building endowment. Our hope is that ALL community members in our tri-state service area (Bennington, Berkshire, Washington, and Rensselaer Counties) will support our efforts to build this state-of-the-art facility, allowing us to continue our important shelter services and community programs for years to come.

Fundraising events for the Building Fund and general operations take place throughout the year. We also have a few special fundraising programs that are available through this website. Take a look and decide how YOU want to make an impact on our new facility. All donations will be acknowledged with letters that can be used for tax purposes.

The Second Chance Kennel Club is looking for members! For a monthly or annual tax-deductible membership contribution, you can sponsor a cat or dog kennel in the new facility.

Enrollment fees vary, and we will provide you with updates on the animal residing in your sponsored kennel.
