Directions
Our shelter is located at 1779 VT Route 7A in Arlington, Vermont. The facility is a single-story building with parking in front and a delivery driveway on the south side. We have handicap parking and handicap accessible entrance. Look for colorful logo sign out front.
Until further notice, visits to our facility are by confirmed appointment only. Those wishing to adopt a companion animal must first submit an online adoption application (go to our website heading Shelter Services), and once your application is approved, we will call to schedule an appointment. SCAC is closed on Mondays, and our staff is available Tuesday through Sunday, 11:00 am until 3:00 pm.
We are closed Mondays, major holidays, and during severe weather conditions. When in doubt, give us a shout!
From the Albany, NY area:
Go north to Troy, and then take NY Rte. 7 east to Bennington, VT. (In Vermont, this road becomes VT Rte. 9.) In Bennington, take VT Rte. 7 north to Exit 3. At the end of the ramp, turn left and drive west on Rte. 313 until the stop sign at Rte. 7A. Turn left onto 7A, and Second Chance is on the right side about 0.6 miles down the road.
From the Brattleboro, VT area:
Take VT Rte. 9 west to Bennington. In the center of town, turn right onto Rte. 7 and continue north through town. Take Exit 3, turning left at the end of the ramp and drive west on Route 313 until the stop sign at Rte. 7A. Turn left onto 7A, and Second Chance is on the right side just 0.6 miles down the road.
From the Rutland, VT area:
Take Rte. 7 south. Just north of Manchester, the road divides. Bear right onto Rte. 7A south and continue south through the towns of Manchester, Manchester Village, Sunderland, and then Arlington. The Center is just south of the center of Arlington on the right-hand side (past the Dollar General store and 0.6 miles south of the Rte. 7A and 313 East intersection).
From the Pittsfield, MA area:
Take Rte. 7 north into Bennington, VT, and continue to Exit 3. At the end of the exit ramp turn left and continue west on Rte. 313 until the stop sign at Rte. 7A. Turn left onto 7A, and Second Chance is on the right side just 0.6 miles down the road.
